Market Research and Intelligence for Food Exporters
Most food exports that fail were never tested before they were shipped. The product may be good, but the price, the pack, the channel or the rules did not fit the market. We help you find that out before you invest: with research that shows whether your product can win in a new market, who you will compete with and what price the market will accept.
Who this is for
Producers considering a new market who want evidence before they commit to samples, packaging changes or a distributor.
Brands choosing between markets or channels, for example the US or Europe, retail or foodservice.
Companies preparing for a buyer or investor conversation who need clear numbers on market size, competitors and pricing.
What we do
Market Research
We study the market for your product category: who buys, through which channels, at what price points and with what expectations. We combine published data with conversations with distributors, buyers and retailers.
Feasibility Studies
A feasibility study tests whether your product can succeed in a specific market. It covers demand, competitors, regulatory requirements, costs from factory to shelf, and the investment needed. You receive a clear view of the opportunity and the risks, and a recommendation on whether, where and how to proceed. Read more in our guide to food market feasibility studies.
Competitor Analysis
We map the products already on the shelf or menu: who they are, how they are priced, packaged and positioned, and where there is a gap that your product can fill.
Pricing Strategy
We work out a landed cost, from your factory price through freight, duties, importer and distributor margins to the retail or menu price, and recommend a price that works for you and for the buyer.
Common problems we help solve
Not knowing whether anyone in the target market will pay your price.
A product that is too similar to what the shelf already offers.
Costs from factory to shelf that nobody has added up.
Choosing a market on instinct rather than evidence.
Regulatory or labelling issues found only after production.

Frequently asked questions
What is in a food market feasibility study?
It covers market demand and size, competitors and prices, regulatory and labelling requirements, the cost from factory to shelf, the investment needed and the main risks, together with a recommendation.
How long does a study take?
It depends on the scope. A focused study on one product and one market takes less time than a multi market study. We agree the scope and timeline with you at the start.
What do I get at the end?
A written report, a short presentation of the findings and a recommendation on whether, where and how to proceed.
Can a study tell me what price to charge?
It can show the price range in the market and the margins each player in the chain expects, and from that we recommend a price. It does not replace testing with real buyers.
Is the research specific to my product?
Yes. We research your product category, your target channel and your target region, and compare your product to what is already available.
What if the study says not to go ahead?
That is a useful result. It saves the cost of samples, packaging and shipments for a market where the product would not work, and can point to a better market, channel or product.
